John Mitchell Morris

John Mitchell Morris focuses on all aspects of feature film and television loan transactions, including credit facilities, production loans, publicity and advertising loans, and ultimates loans. Mitch began his legal career as a civil litigator, where he practiced in a variety of areas, including employment law, personal injury, and insurance litigation. In 2016, he began serving as a Professor of Practice in the College Writing department at Purchase College, State University of New York. He was appointed as the Interim Director of that program in 2018 and served in that role through 2021.

Mitch earned his M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College in 2016, his J.D. from Villanova University’s Charles Widger School of Law in 2012, and his B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Northridge in 2008.

Prior to law school, Mitch worked as an actor, appearing in numerous plays, films, and television series.
